I know many people are still blinded in this area, but the truth is, both the wealthy, rich and poor alike own nothing. Understand that no one brought anything into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out, understand again that becoming wealthy and rich in this world is not a function of any one’s intelligence or skillfulness…. Deuteronomy 8:18 says it is (God) who gives (us)power to get wealth.
That is, it is God who gives us the wisdom, understanding, skill, spiritual strength, bodily strength and good health so we can be able to acquire wealth. It is God who gives fertility to the earth or soil and enable us to succeed and prosper in all our work here on earth.
The English word wealth in Deuteronomy 8:18 is from the Hebrew word “Chayil” pronounced Hi Eel or Khah-yil the true definition is resources, wealth, virtue, valor ,strength army, substances, might, riches – the same word is used in proverbs 31:10 “who can find a virtue woman? In Hebrew it is written “Eshet chayil” accurately it means a woman of Valor, virtue, might, both physically and spiritually, to serve him and to do his will in establishing
The Abrahamic Covenant with us
God is not just interested in us having great possessions – he is also very much interested in our character and conduct. So he gives virtue, strength, wisdom, understanding, skill and good health – so that we would continue to remember and not to forget, but instead acknowledge Gods goodness, and fidelity to his promises .
No man or woman gets to a point where he or she begins to think so highly of his or her hard work or brilliancies but instead recognize and acknowledge the Lord for being the one who blessed us (you) with the body, the brain, and the talent.
